What is God Today? God as Wholeness

“We can sometimes get a glimpse of wholeness in our own lives,
when we come into a moment of solitude or silence –
when in that brief moment, there is an awareness of a ‘being in love…”

– Ilia Delio

Ilia Delio, in this third video of our seven-part series on “What is God Today?”, explores God As Wholeness: “We can sometimes get a glimpse of wholeness in our own lives, when we come into a moment of solitude or silence – when in that brief moment, there is an awareness of a ‘being in love’, that everything just seems to fall into place, where we are part of the whole, the whole is part of us…” – Ilia

So let’s talk a little bit about God as wholeness and this hunger for wholeness that’s at the heart of our lives.

Wholeness as a dynamic concept is in every movement of complexifying love. And so, God as dynamic creativity, as dynamic movement in love, is always with us in the sense of inviting us to become part of this movement in love. And so, God’s becoming in love is also our becoming in love. We are becoming in love together.

We can sometimes get a glimpse of wholeness in our own lives when we come into a moment of solitude or silence, when in that brief, brief moment there is an awareness of being in love, that everything seems to fall into place where we are part of the whole, the whole is part of us and this seamless unity of my being and the world in which I live are one. And that unity is, of course, God’s own presence.

Something about this union—that if God becomes God in us—that’s the whole beauty of this Christian mystery that we are talking about. As God shares that love with us, in a creative way, God’s ongoing creativity now includes us.

There’s something about God that is becoming God in us, in and through us. And therefore, what we’re called to do is to live out of this deep centered beingness in love.

Thank you Ilia, for being a part of this magnificent evolution we are immersed within. So often we are captured by reactivity to things breaking down. But, you are offering us a vision of a new whole, grounded in love, that is emerging. The God of my childhood and my catechism is just too small for what our world has become. Waking up to this evolution grounded in love is the next step that is so desired right now and does bring us together. Your vision is truly inspiring, Thank You !

This is so exciting as it comes from a deep, experiential, knowledgeable place that makes Christianity vital again in this time in history.

Thank you, Ilia, for a beautiful example of this possibility at the conference at Sugar Loaf this weekend. I was so fortunate to be there and to participate with all and to gain more strength, love and insight into my place in the cosmos and my responsibility for the positive evolution of the universe collectively. Love to you and your staff and the mission of Omega Center.
